R: The steps to follow are described in this document. Why do the Corner URLs now begin with "https" ? R: The FIB Corners are now on a secure server with encrypted communications. All secure servers begin with "https" and our browser tells us we are connecting to one by highlighting the padlock icon. Why does the browser ask me so many questions when I access my Corner? R: Secure servers always authenticate when establishing a connection in order to ensure we are connecting to the right server, and they do this by sending a certificate. You can accept this certificate for all subsequent sessions, or just the current session. We recommend accepting it for all sessions, so it won't ask any more questions. When connecting to the Corner from home, it tells me it doesn't trust the certificate. Why? This is because the browser you have at home does not have the certification authority installed by UPC, which is the organisation that has provided the certificate on our server. In order to do this, we will have to follow the steps described in the following document I can't get the Corners to work in Explorer. It says something about "secure channel failed". Some versions of explorer have problems with the SSL 3.0 protocol, and don't manage to establish a secure connection. This can be solved by deactivating this protocol and forcing the browser to work under SSL 2.0. Tools > Internet options > Advanced options If you are using Internet Explorer 4.0, go: View > Internet options > Advanced options In both cases, uncheck the SSL 3.0 box. Next, come out of Explorer, so as to apply these new options. | ||
