Information for bussinesses

Through the Educational Cooperation Agreements, the University gives businesses the opportunity to incorporate final year students on work experience without requiring work contracts or social security payments (this is covered by the student insurance), while giving rise to the possibility of tax benefits.

Almost one hundred FIB students participate in Educational Cooperation Agreements every year.

The Barcelona School of Informatics teaches the following courses:

• Degree in Informatics Engineering (five years).
• Diploma in Computer Software (three years).
• Diploma in Computer Systems (three years).

Students may participate in Educational Cooperation Agreements for a maximum of:

• 80 hours a month between October and May (exceptions can be made to this limit when the agreement involves the carrying out of a Final Thesis). There is no restriction in the holiday period (June-September).
• 960 hours in an academic year.

It is an indispensable condition for participation in the agreement that students have passed at least half of their course, and that they be covered by student insurance for the duration of the agreement.

Students are paid for their work directly by the company. According to Royal Decree1497/81on Educational Cooperation Agreements, this payment takes the form of a grant.

When the agreement is formalised, the University will bill the company for 10.7% of what the student was paid, to cover the administration costs.
