What e-mail address do students get?

R: Your e-mail address follows the format: username@est.fib.upc.es. Username is your DNI (National Identity Number) with the first number changed to the appropriate letter. If your DNI is 57.777.888, your e-mail address would be f7777888@est.fib.upc.es

Is there any more information concerning e-mail on the FIB website?

R: Yes. On the LCFIB services page there is a section called "Communications Services" where you will find information about Electronic mail

What servers provide the student e-mail?

R: The student e-mail servers are:

Inbox server: correu.fib.upc.es

Outbox server: mail.fib.upc.es

How can I check my e-mail from outside UPC?

How much space do we get on the e-mail server?

R: Students are given 5Mb, and the size of individual e-mails is limited to 1Mb. Please bear in mind that this 5Mb includes your personal page, if you have one.

I have new mail, but it doesn't show up on screen. How can I solve this problem?

R: The problem concerns disk space. In order to free up some space, follow these steps:

Access your account from WebMail.

Select the SENT folder and delete all messages. Remember that they are only really deleted when you empty the WebMail trash can (at the foot of the page on the right).

Look for the CORE folder. If it exists, access correu.fib.upc.es via FTP (with the usual login and password), and delete the file: "core" which you will find in the ns-mail folder.

You should now be able to receive new mail. If not, go to the Operations Service in the A5/C6 Buildings or send a message to fib.upc.edu">lcfibfib.upc.edu.
